In the Spring of 2012 I will be attempting to hike from Mexico to Canada along the Pacific Crest Trail. The PCT runs approximately 2,650 miles, traversing 3 states, 25 National Forests, 7 National Parks, and over 420,000 feet of elevation change (picture hiking from sea level to the top of Mt. Everest and back down - 7 times!)

Resupply Strategy
So I will be sending packages to seven locations between Campo and Castella. The idea is to have my parents drop me at the border, then go to San Diego to visit my grandmother. They will then meet me on highway 78, about three days in, to make sure my gear is working out and to drop some food. From there I get boxes at Idyllwild, Wrightwood, Lake Hughes, Mammoth Lakes, Echo Lake, Belden, and Burney. I will also have my parents meet me at Walker Pass for another resupply, and have Erin meet me near Tahoe. Plus, Erin is picking me up in Castella. I will be taking a week break, seeing Wicked in Sacramento, making more resupply boxes, and revising my strategy from there. Each resupply town gets one box, and the rest is up to resupply from general stores in towns along the way.
